Generally uncommon medium-sized goose. Dark chocolate brown with a white forehead and bubblegum-pink bill. Similar to Greater White-fronted Goose: Lesser is slightly smaller and shorter-necked with a rather small, stubby bill, a distinct but narrow yellow eyering, and a more extensive white forehead. Usually seen as singles or small groups among flocks of other geese. Breeds in scrubby tundra and winters in agricultural fields, saltmarshes, and drier areas adjacent to wetlands. Gives high squeaks, often while in flight.

BREED DETAILS-LESSER WHITE FRONTED GOOSE -(Anser erythropus)
The Lesser White-fronted Goose belongs to the Anser genus (Grey Geese) and is considered 'Vulnerable' as numbers are declining due to hunting, and habitat loss.  Size Typical Adult is 53-66cm (21-26in). Food Mainly grasses, shoots, sedges, cereals, grain, and wheat. Habitat/Range Wetlands, wet grasslands, fields, lakes, and open tundra in northernmost Asia, and Europe. Winters further south in Europe, Asia Minor, eastern Mediterranean, Caspian Sea, China, South Korea, and Japan. Breeding Begins late May to early June. Eggs 4 to 5 (glossy creamy-white colour).
